To facilitate the ease of doing business initiative and removing the transaction time and other costs, the central government established a Udyam registration portal for the micro, small and medium enterprises. The central government portal will provide more ease to new entrepreneurs in India because the majority of business initiatives in the state lies under the MSMEs sector. The ministry of the MSMEs sector also announced that except the portal there is no other portal or any other private or offline system, service, agency or person is authorised to do registration for the MSME registration.

The MSMEs are the backbone of the Indian economy and the Government is taking a number of steps to tackle the disruptions caused by the pandemic, and giving special focus to small businesses. The small, micro and medium enterprises developing economies like India, hence these small enterprises play a key role in providing momentum to the Indian economy. Presently 40-60% of startups have no fund to survive in the market due to the COVID-19 situation. So the Government is taking different steps to help these MSMEs. So the MSMEs growth rate increases and the Indian economy gets a boost.
Udyam Enterprise Portal Registration Online
The central government allows online registration for new enterprises totally based on self-declaration. This service started on 26th June 2020. From July month there is no requirement to upload the documents for the registration of micro, small and medium enterprises. The Udyam Registration portal gets integrated with the system of Income Tax and GST. The details of the enterprise can be easily verified on the basis of PAN No or GSTIN details.
The latest definition of MSME as per the notification is as follows
The Government has classified micro, small and medium enterprises on the basis of the following parameters, namely:-v
(i) a micro-enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed one crore rupees and turnover does not exceed five crore rupees;
(ii) a small enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed ten crore rupees and turnover does not exceed fifty crore rupees; and
(iii) a medium enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed fifty crore rupees and turnover does not exceed two hundred and fifty crore rupees.

➢ Any enterprise who wishes to register themselves for Udyam certificate the first need to visit the official website. Click Here
➢ The enterprise will get a Permanent number after the successful registration.
➢ On the official website of Udyam Registration, you will find “For New Enterprise who are not registered as MSME” you have to click on that button.
➢ After that you will forward to the new landing page, you will get a form. Fill the form details like Aadhar number and Firm name.
➢ After that validate and generate OTP.
➢ After the successful completion of registration, you will get a certificate. The certificate will be issued online only.
➢ This certificate has a dynamic QR code, from which the web page on the Portal and enterprise details can be accessed.
➢ And there are no fees for registration. And no need to renew the registration.
➢ Registration Process is totally free. No Costs or Fees are to be paid to anyone.
MSME Registration is free, paperless and based on self- declaration
➢ The government made this MSMEs registration fully free and paperless based on self-declaration.
➢ You don’t need any documents for the registration of the enterprise.
➢ You need to provide only an Aadhar number for the registration of the enterprise.
➢ The government will take details on investment and turnover of the registered enterprise automatically based on the PAN & GST details.
➢ The portal is fully integrated with Income Tax and GSTN systems.
➢ The government made a mandatory for PAN & GST from 01.04.2021
➢ Those enterprises who have EM-II or UAM registration or any other type of registered certificate they also need to register in Udhayam Registration.
Register a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise
✔ Any person who wishes to register an established micro, small and medium enterprise can register on the Udyam Registration Portal. There is no registration fee and no need to upload any documents, papers, documents, certificates or any other proof. This registration will be done on the basis of self-declaration.
✔ After the registration of the enterprise, the enterprise will get a permanent identification number that is “Udyam Registration Number”.
✔ An e-certificate, namely, “Udyam Registration Certificate” shall be issued on completion of the registration process.
More Detailed Registration Process for MSMEs Registration
✔ The registration form will be provided on the Udyam Registration portal.
✔ There is no registration fee for the enterprises.
✔ Only the Aadhar number is required for the registration of enterprises.
✔ The Aadhar number shall be provided on the basis of proprietorship firm, of the managing partner in the case of a partnership.
✔ In case of a Company or a limited liability partnership or any other Cooperative Society or in a Society Trust, the organisation or its authorised signatory shall provide its GSTIN and PAN along with its Aadhaar number.
✔ If the enterprise is duly registered as an Udyam with PAN, any less information for previous years, in that case, PAN shall be filled up on the self-declaration basis.
✔ An no enterprise shall file more than one Udyam Registration. Any information provided as a number of activities including manufacturing or service or both may be specified or added in one Udyam Registration.
✔ Any enterprise intentionally misguides or attempts to suppress the self-declared facts and figures appearing in the Udyam Registration or updation process will have to pay a penalty as mentioned under section 27 of the Act.
FOR EXISTING ENTERPRISES
All other existing enterprises who registered under EM-Part-II or UAM need to register themselves once again on the Udyam Registration portal. They need to register after the 1st day of July 2020. And all other enterprises registered till 30th June 2020. They need to be reclassified in accordance with this notification.
The existing enterprises registered prior to 30th June 2020, shall continue to be valid only for a period up to the 31stday of March 2021.
An enterprise registered with any other organisation under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises shall register itself under Udyam Registration.
How to Print Udyam Certificate | Udyam certificate Print
To print your Udyam certificate. You need to click on the Print certificate option on the official website.
Enter your Udyam Registration Number.
Choose any one option for OTP ( One Time Password ).
After clicking on the ‘Validate & Generate OTP’ button, you will receive OTP on Selected Option.
Enter OTP and click on the ‘Validate OTP & Print’ button. When your entered OTP matches successfully, you will be auto-redirected to Print Certificate.
