Approximately Rs 1272 crore has been transferred by the Odisha government to the beneficiary of the Kalia scheme on 12 February 2021. 53 lakh farmers have been benefited from the Odisha government through this scheme. 2000 rupees to each farmer in his bank account by this 2020 installment. This amount i.e. 1272 rupees given by the government has been transferred through Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) method. Top Benefits of Odisha KALIA Yojana

  • Support for farming – Financial assistance of Rs.25,000/- per farm family over five seasons will be provided to small and marginal farmers so that farmers can purchase inputs like seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and use assistance towards labor and other investments.
  • Support for livelihood 12,500 / – for each landless agricultural house like mini goat farming unit, mini-layer unit, fishery kit for fishermen, mushroom cultivation and beekeeping, etc. for agricultural activities. What is the full form of KALIYA?

KALIA stands for “Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation”. KALIYA scheme is launched for the welfare of the farmers of Odisha. This scheme has been launched by Odisha Government to accelerate Agricultural Prosperity and reduce poverty in the State.

Who is eligible to get benefits from the KALIYA scheme?

The small and marginal farmers, landless Agricultural household, vulnerable Agricultural household, landless Agricultural labourers and sharecroppers (Actual cultivators) all growth are eligible under different components of scheme. Total of 50 lakh families will be covered under the scheme.

Who are small and marginal farmers?

A small farmer is a cultivator who owns 1 hectare (2.5 acres) to 2 hectares (5 acres) of Agricultural land. A marginal farmer is a farmer who owns less than 1 hectare of Agricultural land.

What are the different types of benefits under the KALIYA scheme?

The small and marginal farmers will get financial assistance of Rs.25,000/- per farm for five seasons. With this amount, the farmers can purchase seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other required items.
