AICTE PG Scholarship: Pragati and Saksham Scholarship, Get 50,000 Scholarship

AICTE PG Scholarship

This scheme is mainly for specially-abled students. The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) provides 50,000 scholarships under these schemes. 

Recently the AICTE PG scholarship extended the last date to apply for these schemes. The last date is 31st January 2022. AICTE is offering Rs 50,000 financial assistance yearly basis to those students who got selected under this scheme.

AICTE Scholarship Schemes Available at Present

This scheme is only for the girl students (Degree & Diploma): Those female students who are in the first year of their technical degree or diploma, or in the second year of degree or diploma level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions of the respective year, and under this scheme, almost 5000 scholarships are going to be distributed.

Students who are eligible for this scheme need to submit an online application from the following 13 union territories and the North Eastern States of India. Students who apply from these states will get scholarships from the AICTE. The states and union territories are Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.

While on the other hand, the same scheme is also there “Saksham Scholarship Scheme ” for specially abled-abled students (Degree and Diploma): The main aim of this scheme is to encourage the students and support them on a financial basis to continue their education. 

Who Can Apply for the AICTE PG Scholarship

Students who are in the first year of their technical degree or diploma or second year of degree or diploma level course through the lateral entry of any AICTE approved institutions can apply for the scheme.

Only specially-abled students are eligible for these scholarships.

Eligibility of AICTE PG Scholarship

  • The applicant’s family income should be less than Rs 8 lakh per annum.
  • For the Saksham Scholarship Scheme, only specially-abled students are eligible and students having disabilities of not less than 40% are eligible for the schemes.
  • Students who are fulfilling all the eligibility criteria can apply online on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
  • For this the host institution where the applicant is required to verify the online application.
  • After applying for the application the Technical Education (DTE) of the respective state or UT will verify all these applications for the second level of scrutiny.
  • If the student is in the 2nd year and wants to apply for the scholarship in the second year then the student needs to only renew the old scholarship by submitting the 1st year mark sheet along with a letter from the Head of the Institution on the online portal. 
  • There should not be any gap between the year of passing the qualifying examination and the session of admission in degree course should not be more than 2 years.
